Shed type and roof and size
Here we have a high quality plastic shed that should prove to be very useful when storage is an issue in your garden. The quality of the shed is consistent throughout. The building is 173 cm wide, which is a very generous amount of space, but this reduces to 155.7 cm internally, which we think is a bit of a loss. When it comes to the depth of the building, and all of that storage potential, you are looking at 96 cm externally, and 77 cm internally.
The building has an apex roof that allows for extra headroom inside. The apex roof also does a pretty good job of keeping rainwater off through runoff. It’s a nice feature and it gives the building a traditional look.
Cladding and frame and floor
The building itself has been clad in vinyl. This is one of the cheapest materials around as regards cladding, so it has an instant impact on price. But there is a lot more to this than meets the eye, because vinyl is actually a decent cladding material to use on a building. We know it isn’t cladding as such, but as a material it has benefits. For example, it is extremely resistant to rainwater, and this plays to the strength of the building.
But the real beauty of the building comes in the frame. You wouldn’t expect this for the price (we certainly didn’t) but there is galvanised steel running through the framing of the unit. This steel is of course strong, but the galvanised aspect means that you have steel that is naturally resistant to rust and erosion. This means a longer life for the building. It is a very valuable aspect of the building and we are very impressed by this feature at such a low price point.
The floor material is very special too. Created using moulded plastic, it allows for more protection against rainwater. It’s cleaner and tougher than the usual stuff you find in buildings of this level.
Treatment requirement and warranty
Due to the materials used in the building, you can expect an extremely long life with absolutely no need to treat or repair anything. Aside from cleaning, it is trouble free, and you can enjoy a 15 year warranty with the building too.
Doors and windows
The building has no windows and is a basic security shed, but the doors are very generously proportioned for this building. The opening of the double doors goes all the way up to 134 cm. That’s plenty of space for even the bulkiest of tool sets.
Security and privacy
It’s as secure as you would expect it to be with no windows. This Is a great aspect for your security, and you can enhance that even further by fitting a padlock.
There is a lot here to enjoy as an owner. You are looking at a building that has galvanised steel inside it for framing, and that is a very high quality build spec.
Longevity Of Materials 10/10
The vinyl and the galvanised steel makes for a strong combination, and you should easily expect the full 15 years that the warranty covers.
This is perfectly adequate for bikes as well as large and bulky tools. It is perfect for anyone who just needs that little bit extra storage in their garden. While it is not huge, it can certainly handle a good amount of storage.
Ease Of Installation 8/10
You get extremely clear instructions (not always the case) and it shouldn't take two people more than an hour to put it together.
We like this shed, and we are pleased to say that we think it provides excellent value for money. We felt the internal shrinking size wise was an issue, so this is reflected in the score. Otherwise, it’s all good.
Final Thoughts: This is an excellent building and well worth the price. You get a tough unit that can withstand weather easily. You also have a building that has wide opening doors so it is easy to use. And we cannot get over the fact that you have a galvanised steel frame in there.
