Shed type and roof and size
This basic store is perfect for keeping tools and other items such as lawnmowers safe. The quality of the building is sound, and there are features that lift it above other buildings in the price range.
The unit is 202 cm wide with no subsequent narrowing internally, which is a very good start. The depth of the building is 92 cm but this does reduce a little down to 87.9 cm internally. All in all though, not a massive problem with sizes here.
Cladding and frame and floor
The cladding on this unit looks amazing. It is rustic overlap, and it offers a real aesthetic appeal immediately. As far as the strength of the material, it is simply not as tough and durable as other materials, and this is reflected in the price of the unit.
The cladding style is in the Waney vein while it looks good, it’s just a little less well made than other cladding, and we feel it detracts somewhat from the quality of the building.
The makers have opted to give you some control on the flooring. You can have no floor and simply find a solution yourself, or you can use solid sheet materials. You can also opt for tongue and groove flooring. This stuff is really of the highest quality, and we would recommend this every time.
Treatment requirement and warranty
The building is pre-treated at the factory. This gives you more time and money in the future, both of which would have to be spent on managing the treatment schedule.
Doors and windows
The door opens up to 112.6 cm in width. This is an incredible amount of access and it means you can get that lawnmower into the shed quite easily.
Security and privacy
No windows, but this is a security shed due to the fact you are keeping valuable tools and possessions inside it.
As mentioned earlier, you can play around with flooring options. We cannot stress enough that, if you have the option of tongue and groove flooring, you should take it. Watertight and completely strong throughout, the tongue and groove option makes perfect sense.
A useful customization option is shelving, and this building has the option of including shelving in your purchase. You can have one side of shelving and it can rise up to 3 ft. It adds on a little bit extra to the price but is useful.
You can also choose the colour of the building (there are some nice options here) as well as purchase assembly material and padlocks.
We will be honest and say that the cladding is not the best. Its all about cost, and while the cladding looks nice and rustic, you are not getting the toughest building. But the price reflects this. We would opt for tongue and groove flooring to compensate.
Longevity Of Materials 7/10
See above. Apart from those two points, you do ge pre-treatment, which goes some way to reducing the cladding issue.
You’re looking at a building that will easily store a large lawnmower, as well as a variety of tools, so there is ample storage here for the average gardener.
Ease Of Installation 8/10
We will say that the instructions for this product are actually quite challenging. However, if you set aside a morning and have two people to do it there should be no real problems.
You can't argue with that price, but the cladding is an issue, and we can't avoid that. Best to see it as a compromise.
Final Thoughts: Here you have a decent little storage shed that needs better cladding. Other than that problem, it has plenty of space for a lawnmower and tools, and some nice extra options like shelving that could add to the utility. A good shed for the price.
