Shed Type and Roof Size
This is an incredibly large, long lasting metal garage, offering multiple use capability and a secure, dry place to store your belongings. With a gentle sloping apex roof, the building is constantly protected against rain water, keeping it away from the materials and preventing a water build-up. This roof also gives the interior of the garage additional height. This is great news if you’re on the taller side and it also gives you chance to store tall items.
It’s always important to take into account the measurements of the garage before buying. This is especially true when you’re investing in a building of this size. It measures an exceptional 7.17m in depth and 3.21m in width. The roof stretches up to 2.17m tall, while the eaves reach 1.86m. Finally the doors measure 1.80m high and 2.23m wide, ensuring you have a lot of space to get tools and equipment into the building.
Cladding, Frame and Floor
The cladding on this garage is pretty impressive. It is created with strong PVC and provides a great Shiplap style. Shiplap cladding is used on premium sheds due to its strong and attractive design. However, whilst on wooden sheds it requires regular maintenance, on this metal building it doesn’t require any special treatment. It is used purely for aesthetic benefits and adds a great stylish design to the garden.
The framing is made with hot dipped galvanised steel. This is practically one of the toughest materials used in outdoor building construction. Known for its rust-free and durability benefits, this steel frame will last for many years and withstand a lot of wear and tear.
An integral foundation kit is supplied for the flooring which is convenient if you don’t have a flat, solid surface to assemble the garage. After all, this is a very big building so you will need a large concrete area to install it.
Treatment Requirements and Warranty
As no treatments are required, this is an ideal model for those looking to not only save on annual hassle, but who also want to keep the costs low. The garage does come at a pretty high cost so the fact you don’t have to spend extra on treatments is a particularly large benefit. It has already been pre-painted to protect against rust and this should last for 10 years according to the warranty you receive with the garage.
Doors and Windows
With 3 doors, this is a uniquely designed garage that ensures you have excellent access to its contents. The double doors at the front of the building give you a lot of space to transfer tools and equipment. All of the doors are also pad-lockable, meaning you don’t have to worry about anybody else gaining access if you don’t want them to. They also benefit from an attractive design.
Due to the size of this building it does come with two windows. You’ll find the smaller version have just one window. This means you don’t get complete privacy, but the windows are fairly small so they don’t allow too much to be seen. However, you should still be wary if you’re going to be storing expensive tools or machinery. We recommend keeping anything of high value covered up.
Security and Privacy
As you’ll gather from the two windows, this garage isn’t the most private model you can buy. However, the windows do provide the benefit of natural lighting. So if you plan on using the space as a workshop, this could prevent you from needing to install an electrical pack. There is also an integrated skylight feature which provides extra light from the top of the building. So provided you only plan on working during morning and daytime hours, there should be plenty of lighting to work with.
In terms of security, we are impressed with how solid and secure this building actually is. Its PVC cladding and steel frame are almost impossible to break through. This means the doors and windows are the only points of access into the shed for potential thieves. Considering the doors can be padlocked, this leaves just the windows you need to worry about. Whilst they do have an incredibly strong design and won’t be easy to break into, it may be worth looking into installing window locks.
Customisation Options and Extras
There is one major customisation option available with this model and that’s a window kit. If your garden is private and secure, it won’t matter too much about having windows as nobody will be able to see inside anyway. This option will also eliminate the need for an electrical pack as plenty of lighting will be provided.
It is also recommended you invest in an anchor kit to keep the garage fully secured to the base. An integral foundation kit is supplied with the building in case you don’t already have an even concrete base.
There are no flaws in the design of this garage at all. Therefore we happily give this building 10/10 for quality.
Longevity Of Materials 7.9/10
No need to worry about how long this building will last thanks to its super-strong construction. Its 10 year warranty gives you reassurance that it will last at least 10 years.
There is a great level of storage space included in this garage, with the apex roof providing a taller storage solution. You can easily store vehicles, machinery, gardening equipment and tools and BBQs for example.
Ease Of Installation 7.5/10
The manufacturer claims this garage can be set up almost immediately thanks to the easy to follow instruction manual. Whilst we agree the assembly is easy enough, we don’t agree that it will be ready to use almost instantly. This is a very large building and the fact that it is made from heavy, solid metal means it is going to take a good level of hard labour to put it together. It will take at least half a day to build. This is definitely something you need to be aware of.
The only reason we couldn’t give this a higher rating is because the initial cost of the garage is pretty high. However, what we do recognise is that for how long it lasts and the many excellent features that it supplies, it does offer very good value for money in the long term. You don’t even need to apply paints or treatments to protect the building. So compared to wooden buildings you are saving a lot of money annually.
Final Thoughts: If you’re lucky enough to have a very large garden, we do recommend this garage. It can fit two vehicles in, or provide you with an extraordinary amount of space to store your tools and equipment. We love the quality design and the fantastic collection of features supplied with the garage. It has been constructed to be incredibly secure and overall it is a great investment.
