Below is a brief overview of how some of the key points of this shed fairs across the market.

Roofing

Polycarbonate is the material used for the roofing, our experts rate this one of the best forms of roof material out of the 3 types we’ve found on same-size sheds [2]. This roofing material is used on 1% of all sheds analysed, and 1% of the top 10% of sheds. While you’ll find that the Expert Score of this shed is 1 point lower than the average for 10′ x 18’s that use polycarbonate roof material (87 vs the average of 88), you can be sure it’s not due to the roofing as this one of the highest scoring materials found on 10′ x 18′ sheds. 4% of 10′ x 18′ sheds (5 in total) use polycarbonate construction for the roof.

A 16mm thick roof material was used on this shed which is the best thickness used for a roofing material out of 5 thicknesses identified on same-size sheds [3]. It’s used on 1% of all sheds and 3% of the top 10% of sheds. 2% of 10′ x 18′ sheds (3 in total) use a 16mm thick roof material, and when taking the average Expert Score of those 10′ x 18′ sheds (87), the 10’x18′ Palram Canopia Olympia Grey Patio Cover With Clear Panels is the same with an Expert Score of 87.

Window

Fantastic, our experts say most of the window options used are among the best.

Twin wall polycarbonate windows come installed on this shed. As a glazing option, we rate it the best out of the 3 glazing types found on 10′ x 18′ sheds [4]. This particular type of glazing is used on 1% of all windowed sheds with a look at the top 10% of sheds showing us that none of them choose to install windows with this kind of glazing. 2% of 10′ x 18′ sheds with windows (2 in total) use twin wall polycarbonate windows, and when taking the average Expert Score of those twin wall polycarbonate 10′ x 18′ sheds (87), the 10’x18′ Palram Canopia Olympia Grey Patio Cover With Clear Panels is the same with an Expert Score of 87.

The windows on this shed use a 16mm thick glazing, we rate this the best thickness for window glazing out of 2 different thicknesses found on same-size sheds [5]. Glazing this thick is found on 1% of all the windowed sheds we analysed and our analysis of the top 10% of sheds shows us that none of those 256 sheds that make up the top 10% come with a glazing this thick. 2% of 10′ x 18′ sheds (2 in total) use 16mm thick glazing, and when taking the average Expert Score of those 10′ x 18′ sheds (87), the 10’x18′ Palram Canopia Olympia Grey Patio Cover With Clear Panels is the same with an Expert Score of 87.

1. UV treated: The British Plastics Federation says that the addition of light stabilisers (they are called hindered amine light stabilisers (HALS)) in plastics are used “to inhibit the reactions in plastics which cause undesirable chemical degradation from exposure to UV light.” This chemical degradation from exposure to UV light is often seen as chalking or a white residue that forms as the polymers degrade over time. This degradation can often be avoided by adding HALS that are UV absorbers such as benzotriazoles, benzophenones or organic nickel compounds. By incorporating weathering stabilisers into the plastics used the damaging effects of UV light will be slowed down considerably.
