Let's Take a Closer Look...
Shed type and roof and size
This is a fun playhouse for children. It measures at 124.6 cm in width and 109 cm in depth. Internally, this width converts to 117.2 cm and the internal width becomes 105.6 cm.
The unit is unique in that the roof material is actually a water resistant fabric. This makes for super soft play for the children who get to enjoy it, and it also ensures that the play is safe and clean with the water resistance.
Cladding and frame and floor
For such a lightweight and low priced structure, you are pleasantly surprised as soon as you see that the building is clad in tongue and groove. This stuff is extremely strong, and should provide you with a playhouse that is tough and able to stand up to the elements for years. The tongue and groove work locks together to provide an almost impenetrable surface, and it will certainly ensure the structure is around for a while.
The flooring is a little more conventional for this price range, and is made out of solid sheet materials. This is tough enough, but we thought it would be even better if you had tongue and groove flooring, simply because buildings like this tend to get heavily used, and a stronger floor would mean more durability.
However, you only get that floor if you pay for it as an extra. Otherwise you are left with no floor at all. The next step up from the solid sheet is a slatted floor, which we don’t really recommend, because you can also opt for the tongue and groove, and the price is not prohibitive. For just £22 over the base price you have a very tough floor that has the same solidity as the cladding.
Treatment requirement and warranty
There is no need for annual treatment of this unit, simply because the manufacturer has given the unit a basecoat. This means no worries over treating it and a tougher building that is more durable.
Doors and windows
The building has four windows and they are all of a good size. Interestingly, they are not glazed, and this, alongside the fabric roof, makes for a slightly unconventional feel. In other words, this playhouse is primarily limited to fair weather play.
There is a cute little stable door with the building that allows imaginations to run riot somewhat. The door is also quite effective at keeping children safe, as it has a magnetic catch.
Security and privacy
You can choose your picket fencing, and both options present with lots of extra space to play in, with the largest extending 1172 mm in front of the building. It’s a nice touch and adds a little more excitement to the play.
You can add some decorative wooden shapes to the building to personalise it even more for less than £5. And in addition you also get to choose aspects of the colour of the building. All of this adds a splash of fun.
So, How Does It All Stack Up?
Ease of assembly
Quality of construction
Longevity of material
Final Thoughts: This is a good little playhouse for children, and if you deck it out with that picket fencing it becomes even more fun. We would say that parents should be aware that you need to remember it has no window glazing, and that there is a fabric roof. Also, be sure to invest that little bit extra in the tongue and groove to get the most durability.
