A refined, well-judged corner shed that rewards good design
Corner sheds have always held a particular appeal. For those of us who spend a great deal of time looking at garden buildings — and who have done so year after year — they represent something more than a simple variation on a standard shed.
Corners are notoriously awkward spaces in gardens. They are often left underused, filled with little more than visual clutter, or occupied by structures that feel imposed rather than integrated. A well-designed corner shed does something different. It settles into the garden rather than sitting on top of it, adding utility without demanding attention.
The Tiger Deluxe Corner Shed fits squarely into that tradition.
Why corner sheds still matter
There is a reason corner sheds and corner summerhouses continue to have a loyal following. When done well, they feel almost architectural — more like a garden feature than a functional building.
They are:
- Visually quieter than standard sheds
- Less intrusive in smaller gardens
- Naturally suited to awkward or unused corners
- Often more elegant than their rectangular counterparts
A corner shed can feel a little like a bench tucked beneath an arch or a seat placed at the end of a path: it belongs there. It contributes without dominating.
That subtlety is part of the appeal — and it is also why corner sheds are such a good test of a manufacturer’s competence.
Why corner sheds reveal build quality
From a reviewer’s perspective, corner sheds are unusually revealing.
They are more complex to design and build than a simple square shed. There are more joints, more bracing points, more opportunities for tolerances to drift, and more places where shortcuts will show themselves.
If corners are cut on a corner shed — a phrase that almost begs to be used — the result is immediately apparent.
That is why we have always paid close attention to corner sheds and corner summerhouses when assessing manufacturers. They expose strengths and weaknesses far more readily than basic designs.

What we’ve seen — and what is inferred
The Tiger Deluxe Corner Shed itself was not available to inspect at the three Tiger show sites visited. However, this is not a review written in the dark.
We have:
- Inspected the Tiger Vista Corner Summerhouse twice
- Examined its floor, rear walls, roof construction, and corner joints
- Physically tested its structural rigidity
Crucially, the floor, rear walls, and roof construction of the Vista Corner Summerhouse are the same as those used on the Deluxe Corner Shed. The glazed side panels are also familiar, being the same panels used across several of Tiger’s pent shed models.
Some conclusions here are therefore inferred — but they are inferred from direct inspection of identical components, not speculation.
Structural performance: what the tests showed
During inspection of the Vista Corner Summerhouse, we carried out our usual physical tests.
- Floor load test (75kg):
Approximately 2mm of deflection
The floorboards felt rock solid and showed no concerning movement. - Rear wall load test (75kg):
Approximately 3mm of deflection, measured using a laser
This is a strong result, particularly given the greater glazed area on the summerhouse model.
Because windows contribute nothing to structural strength, the Deluxe Corner Shed — which has less glazing overall — can reasonably be expected to be at least as strong, if not stronger, than the building tested.

Construction: where the strength comes from
The Deluxe Corner Shed uses:
- 12mm tongue & groove shiplap cladding
- 12mm tongue & groove roof boards
- 12mm tongue & groove flooring
- 28 × 44mm rounded four-corner framing
What stood out most during inspection was not just the thickness of the boards, but how the structure comes together.
Particularly impressive was:
- The way the rear walls tie into the roof
- The meeting of the corner joists
- The number and placement of anchor points
These are details that are easy to overlook unless you know to look for them — but they make a real difference to long-term rigidity.
The roof cladding, in particular, felt exceptionally solid. Well-milled tongue & groove boards, properly seated, contribute significantly to overall stiffness, especially in corner designs where load paths are more complex.

Doors, access, and day-to-day usability
One of the most practical advantages of the Deluxe Corner Shed is its large, full-height double doors.
Corner sheds are sometimes criticised for awkward access, but that is not the case here. The door arrangement allows:
- Easy entry for bulky items
- Straightforward movement inside the shed
- Less need to shuffle contents just to get to the back
This is particularly valuable if you are storing items such as:
- Lawn mowers (including larger models)
- Garden machinery
- Bulky tools or seasonal equipment
There is little more frustrating than having to empty a shed just to reach something at the back. The corner layout here helps avoid that problem, preserving usable space even when larger items are stored.
Light and glazing
The windows on either side of the doors introduce significantly more light than you would typically find in a comparable pent shed.
They are fitted with 3mm toughened glass, and when installed correctly — using silicone bedding and pinned fixings as specified — they are rigid and secure.
This is not a shed designed to house particularly valuable items in plain view, and Tiger makes no pretence that it is. Rather, the glazing supports usability and visibility, making the shed a more pleasant and practical place to work.
Security: appropriate rather than excessive
Security is always a balancing act with corner sheds.
The Deluxe Corner Shed is supplied with:
- A lock and key system
- Fully boarded double doors
The hinges are externally fixed using Pozidriv screws, which is fairly typical at this level. From a pure security perspective, through-bolting would be stronger — but it is worth remembering the context.
With windows on the front, this is not a building intended for storing high-value items. It does not pretend otherwise. For garden tools, mowers, and general storage, the level of security is entirely appropriate.

Materials and finish
One of the more reassuring aspects of the Deluxe Corner Shed is what it doesn’t use.
There is:
- No OSB
- No low-grade sheet materials hidden out of sight
- No compromises in the core structure
The timber is well finished, properly treated with Tiger’s water-based system, and backed by a 20-year guarantee .
Loglap option: a more refined alternative
The Deluxe Corner Shed is also available with loglap cladding, and having seen several examples of Tiger’s loglap buildings, it is a tempting option.
The loglap boards Tiger uses are:
- Smoothly machined
- Visually refined
- Consistent in profile
They add a touch of sophistication and visual weight that suits corner sheds particularly well. For those who want the building to feel a little more like a garden feature than a utility structure, loglap is worth considering.
Where we’d like to see more
If there is one lingering wish, it is this: we would love to see the Deluxe Corner Shed offered in Tiger’s Elite Pressure Treated range.
The design lends itself beautifully to that treatment, and the combination of corner layout, pressure treatment, and Tiger’s build quality would make for a genuinely outstanding garden building.
Sizes and suitability
The Deluxe Corner Shed is available in:
- 6×6
- 7×7
- 8×8
This range covers most practical garden scenarios, from modest urban spaces to larger gardens where the corner can support a more substantial structure.
Final thoughts: a corner shed done properly
The Tiger Deluxe Corner Shed is not a novelty, and it is not a compromise. It is a well-made, thoughtfully designed corner shed that does exactly what a good corner shed should do.
It:
- Uses space intelligently
- Sits quietly in the garden
- Offers real structural integrity
- Avoids cheap materials
- Feels built to last
If you have the right footprint for it, this is a building that will reward careful siting and sensible use for many years to come.
And for those of us who have always had a soft spot for corner sheds, it is reassuring to see one done properly.
