Every model in the TigerFlex range has a clear identity: the Aperta is the bright, glass-heavy version; the Copia is the airy apex with portrait glazing; the Moda is the workshop-like pent.
But the Elysia stands almost alone. It is the only TigerFlex model that is deliberately windowless — a design choice that pushes it firmly into the category of secure storage cabin, rather than multipurpose hobby room or garden retreat.
At a glance, the Elysia looks like a more refined, heavier-duty alternative to a shed: a narrow, efficiently shaped, 6-foot-wide building available in three lengths — 6 ft, 12 ft, or 18 ft — with an apex roof and solid double doors.
But this simplicity is its strength. Where most cabins try to be everything at once, the Elysia is unapologetically focused on one thing: providing a robust, solid, secure space in gardens where width is limited and security is a priority.
Build Quality – More Than a Shed, Less Than a Cabin (And Perfectly Honest About It)
Like the rest of the TigerFlex family, the Elysia uses 19 mm interlocking logs — far thicker and stronger than the materials used in standard overlap or shiplap sheds. The machining is clean, the joints close tightly, and the finish is far more refined than any traditional shed product.

Because we’ve inspected multiple TigerFlex models over the years — including the 19mm TigerFlex options at Horsforth and Otley — we know exactly what to expect from this construction style. The modular panel system means the building arrives in pre-constructed 6-foot panels which are then linked together during assembly. The advantage of this is consistency: each module reinforces the next, meaning that an 18×6 Elysia is every bit as structurally stiff and solid as the smallest 6×6 version.

This is the reverse of traditional log cabins, where the longer the back wall becomes, the more inherent flex begins to appear.
The only drawback is subtle but worth noting for accuracy: each join between modules creates an internal support post, which nibbles a small amount of interior space. It doesn’t compromise the functionality at all, but buyers expecting the completely open feel of a single-length log wall should be aware that these small uprights are a natural consequence of modular construction.
Apex Roof – More Height, More Presence
The Elysia’s apex roof immediately gives it a taller and more substantial internal feel than the pent-roofed Silva (the sister model). With a ridge height of just over 2.3 metres, even the shortest version of the Elysia feels upright and spacious.
This matters, because narrow buildings can easily feel tunnel-like.
The apex roof solves that, making the Elysia feel like a proper storage cabin, not a cramped shed.
It also improves weather performance, allowing rain to shed quickly and reducing the chance of standing water on the roof — a small but welcome advantage over flat or pent roofs.
Security by Design – A Windowless Cabin With a Clear Purpose
The most striking characteristic of the Elysia is that it has no windows at all — and this is entirely intentional.
If you want your garden building to double as a bright hobby room or daytime workspace, this is not the right model. But if your priority is security, discretion, and privacy, the Elysia is an excellent candidate.
Windowless designs offer several practical strengths:
- No sightlines into the building
- No glass panels to break
- Stronger wall performance due to uninterrupted logs
- Less heat loss
- Better resistance to attempted forced entry
And because the double doors are full timber, rather than glazed, they feel appreciably heavier and more secure than the doors on the Aperta or Copia.
For storing tools, bikes, gym equipment, gardening machinery, building supplies, or seasonal items, this is an unusually capable structure for the price.
Structural Behaviour – Rigid, Stable and Predictable
Because the Elysia shares the same structural system as the Moda (which we have tested extensively at the Otley show site), we can predict its performance with confidence.
In our tests:
- The 75 kg floor sag test showed around 2–3 mm of movement
- The 75 kg wall lean test showed around 4 mm of flex
This is significantly better than cheap sheds — which often show more than 10 mm — and entirely in line with what you’d expect from a 19 mm modular panel cabin.
And here’s where the Elysia quietly shines:
removing the windows from the wall panels increases stiffness considerably.
A windowed structure will always flex more than a solid one. The Elysia’s uninterrupted walls are inherently stronger — which is one reason this is arguably the most rigid model in the entire TigerFlex range.
For storing heavy tools or equipment, that rigidity matters. The cabin feels stable underfoot, resistant to racking (side-to-side sway), and less prone to the seasonal micro-shifts that can affect lighter buildings.
Thermal and Practical Reality – Seasonal Use, Not a Cabin Replacement
While the structure is solid, it’s important to be honest about the thermal performance.
This is not a 28 mm, 44 mm, or 70 mm log cabin.
It’s a high-end shed / mid-range workshop hybrid.
With no insulation in the walls, roof, or floor, the internal temperature will track the seasons closely. In summer, it will be warm and dry. In spring and autumn, comfortable enough for regular access. But in winter, it becomes a cold storage building — perfectly fine for tools, machines, and boxed items, but not for activities that require prolonged comfort.
Used intentionally, it’s an excellent building.
Used as an office, it will disappoint.
Ideal Use Cases – When the Elysia Makes Perfect Sense
In practical terms, the Elysia is perfect if you need:
- A long, narrow building to fit between boundaries
- A secure space where nothing is visible from outside
- A structure that arrives quickly and assembles cleanly
- A workshop-style building without the fragility of a cheap shed
- A rigid cabin with no glass weak points
- A storage room for expensive tools, bikes, or machinery
- A simple but tidy garden building that performs consistently year after year
It’s less suited to buyers who want:
- Natural light
- A place to sit and read
- A hobby space
- Somewhere to socialise
- A home office
The Elysia is not trying to meet those needs — and should not be judged against them.
Final Verdict – One of the Most Purposeful TigerFlex Models
The TigerFlex Elysia is not the flashiest model in the TigerFlex lineup. It doesn’t have huge windows, an airy feel, or the hobby-friendly personality of the Apertas or Copias.
But judged on what it is designed to do, it’s extremely good.
It’s strong.
It’s rigid.
It’s secure.
It fits where nothing else fits.
And it can be delivered fast.
If you want a bright cabin to spend time in, this isn’t the one.
If you want a dependable, solid, windowless, secure, narrow-footprint storage building, the Elysia may be the best value-for-money solution in Tiger’s entire range.
