First Impressions

When I visited the Tiger Sheds show site to inspect the Procas 44mm Log Cabin, I came away thinking: this is exactly what a mid-market cabin should be. It doesn’t try to be flashy or over-designed, but it delivers quality where it matters — thick walls, strong flooring, proper glazing, and thoughtful finishing touches. More importantly, it feels like a building designed to last decades, not years.

Inside, the first thing I check is always the floor. On the Procas, the 19 mm tongue-and-groove boards felt rock solid underfoot — no flex, no bounce, just the reassuring sturdiness of premium timber. For context, many cabins at this price point only use 12–15 mm flooring. The roof is also 19 mm tongue-and-groove, topped with Tiger’s polyester-backed TigerFelt®, which is much tougher than the flimsy mineral felt you see on budget models.

Looking up, I noticed three substantial beams running across the span. They were tightly cut and neatly fitted, giving the roof excellent strength. The walls slotted together cleanly with no gaps — Tiger’s four-way chamfered notch system prevents damp and draughts, and it shows. With the doors closed, the interior felt snug and insulated.

It’s worth stressing why this cabin feels so solid: Tiger use slow-grown European softwood, milled in their own Yorkshire facility. Slow-grown timber has a straighter grain, fewer knots, and less risk of warping compared to fast-grown alternatives. Every log is checked, and anything below standard is rejected. That quality control was obvious when I looked around the Procas — the timber was smooth, with very few knots visible.

Windows & Doors

The full-pane double doors are a standout feature. They’re taller than average, which makes carrying things in and out much easier, and they flood the cabin with natural light. The glazing is 4 mm toughened glass — far superior to the styrene sheets you often see in cheaper cabins. I leaned on the panes: no flex, no rattling. The frames are joiner-made, which gives them a chunky, premium look and a reassuring strength. It’s one of those details where manufacturers often cut corners, but Tiger hasn’t.

Windows open smoothly on solid hinges, and the doors are fitted with a proper mortice lock, with the option to upgrade to a 5-lever system. It’s another example of Tiger treating security seriously.

Interior Feel

Stepping inside the 14×10 ft show model, I was struck by how bright and airy it felt. Even on a dull day, the large glass frontage brought in plenty of natural light — enough to work or relax without needing artificial lighting.

The air was fresh with that unmistakeable scent of pine you only get from slow-grown softwood. The walls were smooth, the interlocking joints snug. Adjustable struts are included to keep the walls tight over time, which is a clever touch you rarely see.

The interior feels adaptable: a blank canvas you could turn into a professional home office, a gym, a games room, or simply a space to sit with the doors open on a summer evening.

Best Uses & Suitability

  • Home Office – The glazed frontage creates a workspace that feels connected to the garden.
  • Garden Gym – The 19 mm flooring can easily cope with exercise equipment.
  • Games / Hobby Room – Plenty of natural light and headroom for creative or leisure use.
  • Summerhouse Retreat – With the doors open, it becomes a bright, breezy relaxation space.

The Procas is available in a wide range of sizes up to 20×14 ft, so you can scale it to suit your lifestyle.

Customisation Options

You can choose a reduced height version (under 2.5 m) to meet planning restrictions, select from different window and door styles, and add optional extras like decking, guttering, or roof shingles. Because Tiger mill their own timber, they’re more flexible than most manufacturers, even offering bespoke changes such as additional windows or layout tweaks.

Aftercare & Extras

Every cabin comes with a Welcome Pack including stylish finials, the iconic Tiger badge, and Tiger Club membership. As a member, you get 5% off future purchases, early access to new products, and anniversary offers on maintenance. Tiger also supply eco-friendly paints and preservatives that are UV-resistant, waterproof, and safe for children and pets. And if DIY isn’t for you, professional installation is available.

Finance Options

At £5,000–£10,000 depending on size and options, a cabin like the Procas is a serious purchase. Tiger make it easier with Klarna and Novuna finance plans, including 0% interest over 6–12 months or longer-term monthly payments up to 10 years. For many buyers, this makes the decision far more accessible.

Pros & Cons

Pros

  • Premium 44 mm interlocking logs – excellent strength & insulation
  • 19 mm tongue-and-groove floor & roof – top-tier construction
  • Joiner-made windows & doors with toughened glazing
  • Large glazed frontage for natural light
  • Slow-grown, quality-checked European timber
  • Adjustable struts and chamfered notching for long-term performance
  • 20-Year Guarantee, finance options, and Tiger Club aftercare

Cons

  • Requires a solid base and either DIY skill or professional installation
  • The full-glass front may need blinds for privacy
  • WhatShed Expert Score: 90/100 – solid and reliable, but not luxury-tier

Final Verdict

After inspecting the Procas 44 mm at the show site, I was left with the impression of a cabin that quietly excels where it matters most. The timber quality, the snug fit of the logs, the solidity of the floor and roof, the thoughtful joinery — all of it adds up to a structure that feels more like a home extension than a garden shed.

What sets Tiger apart isn’t just the Procas itself, but the reassurance that comes with it: over 100 years of heritage, slow-grown timber milled in-house, a 20-Year Guarantee, and ongoing aftercare through Tiger Club. For anyone nervous about making such a big investment, that level of trust and support really matters.

If you’re looking for a bright, versatile cabin that’s built to last decades, the Procas is one of the most dependable choices on the market. It’s not the flashiest log cabin you’ll find — but it’s one of the few that feels every bit as good in person as it does on paper.

Score: 9/10 – A dependable, solid, and versatile garden cabin backed by Tiger’s century-old reputation.
