This review covers the TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Security Shed, and before getting into the detail, it’s important to set the context properly.
We’ve reviewed many TigerFlex shiplap pent sheds over the years. That includes:
- Garden storage versions
- Single-door and double-door configurations
- Windowed TigerFlex pent sheds
- Other TigerFlex security sheds, including apex security models
Across all of those inspections, we’ve been massively impressed with the TigerFlex range as a system.
However — and this is important for transparency — we have not physically inspected this exact pent security variant in person. What we have physically inspected are:
- Almost every other TigerFlex pent shed variant
- Multiple TigerFlex windowed and windowless models
- Tiger’s security protection bars, which we’ve seen and tested at the Horsforth show site in years gone by
Everything in this review is therefore based on:
- Direct hands-on inspection of closely related TigerFlex sheds
- Physical testing we have personally carried out
- First-hand inspection of Tiger’s security hardware
- Clear, stated inference where applicable
I want that distinction to be explicit.
Why we rate the TigerFlex pent sheds so highly
We’ve always liked the TigerFlex pent sheds, and that hasn’t changed here.
The pent roof design is one of those things that becomes more valuable the more sheds you see in real gardens. Because the roof slopes in one direction, it naturally offers:
- Space-saving benefits
- Easier placement under overhangs
- Better compatibility with boundary fencing
- Greater flexibility when positioning alongside other structures
If you’re trying to slot a shed into a corner or a restricted area, a pent roof often makes life much easier than an apex.
That advantage is amplified by the TigerFlex modular system. Being able to position the door where you actually need it — rather than where the manufacturer decided it should go — is exceptionally useful. We’ve always liked this aspect of the TigerFlex range, particularly on the pent sheds, and this model is no exception.

Build quality: what we’ve tested and how it feels
One area we can speak about with a very high degree of confidence is build quality, because we’ve tested it directly on multiple TigerFlex sheds.
On the TigerFlex shiplap pent sheds we’ve physically inspected, we’ve carried out:
- Floor sag tests using a 75 kg load, resulting in approximately 2 mm of deflection
- Wall deflection tests, measuring around 3 mm of movement
Those are excellent results and indicate a very stiff, well-framed structure.
But beyond measurements, there’s something else that matters — how the building feels.
When I went inside the double-door version of this shed type, the best way I can describe it is that it smelt of quality. That might sound unusual, but if you inspect enough sheds, you notice it.
Everything felt tight and dry. When I knocked the timber with my hand, there was a crisp, robust response. When I tapped the roof, it had a clean, taut sound. As I walked around inside, there was an echo — not a hollow, absorbent echo, but one that comes from rigid, stable construction.
In cheaper sheds — particularly those using OSB flooring or lower-grade timber — you often get a dull, “dead” feel. This didn’t. It felt taut like a drum.
Based on the consistency we’ve seen across the TigerFlex range, we fully expect the pent security version to exhibit the same structural characteristics.

Windows: security-focused, not token
Unlike the standard windowed TigerFlex pent sheds we’ve reviewed, the pent security version uses security windows, not full-size glazed panels.
This is an important distinction.
You still get daylight, but the windows are deliberately small and designed with security in mind. They’re not there to turn the shed into a workspace — they’re there to provide limited light without creating an obvious vulnerability.
That balance matters. You’re not left with a pitch-dark interior, but you’re also not advertising what’s inside.
A past concern: externally exposed hinges
One thing we’ve openly discussed in previous Tiger shed reviews — including the apex security shed — is hinge exposure.
On some models, hinges were externally mounted with visible fixings. For general storage, that’s not a major issue, but when you’re storing valuables, it can become a potential weak point.
This is something we’ve raised before, and it’s part of why the security details on this shed matter.
The security protection bar: properly engineered
This is where the security protection bar changes the picture.
We’ve seen these bars in person at the Horsforth show site in years gone by, and they left a strong impression. They’re not flimsy or token additions.
The bar:
- Swings over into place with real weight
- Locks securely
- Reinforces the door itself
- Engages directly with the shed’s framing
On top of the standard lock, you also have a padlock, creating a genuinely double-locked system.
Crucially, the locks and fixings go into and through the framing, not just into cladding. That’s the difference between cosmetic security and something that’s actually been thought through.
This isn’t faux engineering — it’s a solid, practical solution.
Why the pent design still makes sense for security use
One thing we really like here is that Tiger hasn’t allowed “security” to override usability.
You still benefit from:
- Modular panel flexibility
- Door positioning options
- The space-saving advantages of a pent roof
Compared to an apex security shed, the pent version arguably offers more flexibility in how and where it can be used, particularly in tighter spaces.
Who this shed is suited to
Based on everything we’ve inspected and tested across the TigerFlex range, this shed is particularly well suited to:
- Secure bike storage
- Garden equipment
- Power tools
- Items you want protected but not on display
It’s clearly designed with security as the priority, without feeling compromised or crude.
The one thing we’d like to see improved
If we’re being completely honest — and honesty is the point of these reviews — there’s one thing we’d change.
We like the TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Security Shed a lot, but we wish it was offered as standard with a double-door option.
For bikes, and especially for motorbikes, that extra width would make a real difference when getting items in and out. Given Tiger’s bespoke capabilities, it’s entirely possible this could be arranged directly, but we’d like to see it formally offered.
Final verdict
The TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Security Shed is a very strong addition to the TigerFlex range.
While we haven’t physically inspected this exact variant, our extensive hands-on experience with TigerFlex pent sheds and Tiger’s security hardware gives us a high degree of confidence in what’s on offer.
It’s solid, thoughtfully engineered, flexible in its placement, and genuinely security-focused — without feeling overbuilt or compromised.
For anyone looking for a secure pent shed with real build quality behind it, this is definitely one to shortlist.
