It’s important to be very clear about our inspection history, because that transparency is what gives this review its credibility.
We have not physically inspected this exact TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Shed configuration. However, we have inspected many TigerFlex pent-roof sheds, and we’ve carried out very close, hands-on inspections of the entire TigerFlex system — including:
- Floors
- Doors
- Wall panels
- Modular joins
- Pent roofs
- Apex roofs
- Framing and bracing
We’ve also physically inspected other TigerFlex sheds that share the same footprint, structure, and construction, including the double-door pent version without windows, which is mechanically and structurally almost identical.
Because TigerFlex sheds are built from a consistent modular system, this gives us a very high degree of confidence in explaining exactly what you’re getting here — and where this model sits within the wider TigerFlex range.
What carries over directly from the Apex version
One of the most important things to understand about the TigerFlex range is that the pent and apex versions share the same core construction quality.
Everything we’ve said elsewhere about the TigerFlex Shiplap Apex Shed applies equally here:
- 12mm tongue-and-groove floor
- 12mm tongue-and-groove roof
- 12mm shiplap tongue-and-groove wall cladding
There is no downgrading when you choose the pent roof.
This matters, because many manufacturers quietly reduce material quality when they introduce alternative roof styles. Tiger doesn’t do that. The pent version is not a “lighter” or cheaper build — it’s simply a different architectural solution built to the same standard.

Why we genuinely like the TigerFlex Pent
We’ve seen a lot of pent sheds over the years, and the TigerFlex pent is one we’ve grown to like more and more the closer we look at it.
The reason is simple:
it combines flexibility with structural seriousness, and that’s a rare combination.
Because of the modular nature of TigerFlex, we already know exactly what you’re getting in terms of:
- Floors
- Doors
- Framing
- Panel joins
- Roof construction
There are no unknowns here.
And because we’ve inspected the double-door pent version without windows, we know that the only real differences with this model are layout and glazing, not structure.
Attention to detail: where Tiger goes beyond “good enough”
If you’ve read any of our other TigerFlex reviews, you’ll already know that we’re extremely impressed with the finish quality — and this shed is no exception.
This is where Tiger quietly separates itself from a lot of competitors.
They do things that:
- They don’t strictly need to do
- Add cost
- Add time
- But dramatically improve the final product
Examples include:
- Using more fixings than many manufacturers
- Placing bearers closer together
- Planing internal framing so it’s smooth, not rough-sawn
- Adding neatly finished roof edge plates
- Using planed external cover strips over wall joins
- Using the same quality timber throughout, not mixing grades
On paper, a lot of sheds look similar. In person, this level of detail is night and day.
It’s the difference between something that just meets a spec and something that feels properly made.
Modular flexibility: where this shed really shines
One of the biggest strengths of the TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Shed is layout freedom.
Because you can move:
- Doors
- Windows
- Solid panels
…you can place this shed in positions that would be awkward or impossible with a traditional pent shed.
Yes, Tiger’s standard pent shed is already very good at slotting into tight spaces. But with TigerFlex:
- You can double the amount of light entering the shed
- You can reposition the door to suit access, not aesthetics
- You can adapt the layout to odd garden shapes or boundaries
That’s a big deal if your garden isn’t perfectly square or you’re working around paths, fences, or other buildings.
This is exactly where TigerFlex becomes the sweet spot between off-the-shelf sheds and full bespoke builds.
Pent roofs and load: an honest, expert discussion
Now let’s talk about something most manufacturer pages don’t talk about properly.
A pent roof concentrates load more than an apex roof. Because it slopes in one direction, more weight ends up being transferred onto the lower wall.
That matters if:
- You live in a very exposed area
- You experience high winds
- You expect snow load (for example, in the Highlands of Scotland)
This is not a criticism — it’s physics.
And it’s exactly why, when we reviewed the TigerFlex pent sheds, we paid very close attention to how the roof structure ties into the rest of the building.

What we found when we looked closely at the structure
We’ve seen modular sheds from other manufacturers in the past that were cheaper for a reason. They cut corners by:
- Using OSB floors
- Using OSB roofs
- Poorly stitching modules together
- Relying on thin sections and minimal bracing
We specifically looked to see if TigerFlex fell into that trap.
It doesn’t.
The way the TigerFlex pent roof is constructed effectively creates a boxed girder structure around the inside of the roof line. This forms a continuous structural “halo” that:
- Transfers load correctly
- Pins the roof and walls together
- Prevents racking
- Increases overall rigidity
It’s a proper structural solution, not a cosmetic one.
Measured performance: tested, not guessed
When we’ve tested sheds with this exact floor plan and footprint, we’ve recorded:
- ~2mm of floor deflection with a 75kg load
- ~3–4mm of wall movement when applying a 75kg load at the largest wall section and at panel joins
These measurements were taken using a laser distance measurer, not guesswork.
Those are excellent results — especially for a pent-roof shed — and they confirm that the modular design is not a weakness here. If anything, once assembled correctly, the modules actively add strength.
Robustness + flexibility: the real selling point
This is where the TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Shed really earns its place.
If you need:
- Structural robustness
- Good load handling
- High-quality materials
and - The ability to adapt layout
- Door and window positioning freedom
- A shed that fits awkward spaces
…this model hits a very rare balance point.
If, on the other hand, you want a very traditional pent shed with thicker framing or loglap cladding, there are other options worth considering. But those often come with less flexibility and more compromise on layout.
Timber quality: why “12mm T&G” isn’t the full story
A lot of manufacturers shout about “12mm tongue and groove”.
That number alone is meaningless.
What matters is:
- Timber grade
- Growth rate
- Machining quality
- Consistency
- Finish
The shiplap tongue-and-groove cladding used on the TigerFlex range is among the best we’ve seen. It’s slow-grown, well finished, and consistently machined.
You can have 12mm T&G from low-grade timber that looks rough, splinters easily, and doesn’t age well. Or you can have 12mm T&G like this.
To put it bluntly:
This is the Audi of 12mm shiplap cladding, not the Ford.
And that same quality runs through:
- The walls
- The floor
- The roof
Tiger doesn’t cheap out in one area to pay for another.
Who this shed is really for
The TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Shed makes the most sense if:
- You need flexibility of layout
- Your garden space isn’t straightforward
- You want strong materials without going fully bespoke
- You value long-term build quality
- You want confidence using a pent roof in more exposed conditions
If flexibility matters as much as strength, this is a real sweet spot in the Tiger range.
Final verdict: why this stands out
The TigerFlex Shiplap Pent Shed isn’t just another pent shed.
It’s the result of:
- High-quality materials
- Proper structural thinking
- A genuinely clever modular system
- Attention to detail most manufacturers skip
We haven’t physically inspected this exact configuration — but we’ve inspected everything that defines it, and the conclusions are consistent.
This is a shed built by a company that understands materials, structure, and real-world use — and that’s why, in our view, the TigerFlex range genuinely sits in the Audi tier of the shed world.
If you want flexibility without compromising on build quality, this is one of the best pent sheds you can buy.
