Before spending £1,000–£8,000, make sure these are clear:
✔ Does the wall thickness match how you’ll use it?
✔ Are you upgrading structure — or just appearance?
✔ Is your base correctly prepared?
✔ Are you choosing seasonal or year-round performance?
✔ Are Tiger Sheds actually good quality — or just heavily marketed?
✔ Are they overpriced compared to other brands?
✔ Does the guarantee depend on maintenance steps?
If those are clear — you’re in control.

Below is a quick structural breakdown of what we physically look for when inspecting Tiger sheds. This section covers 90% off all the garden structures that Tiger make. Tiger also make some buildings on Overlap and Loglap and some of the premium sheds in 16mm pressure treated wood, we have done hands on reviews of all of those so please feel free to click the links and have a read of what we found (the loglap and 16mm ones are fantastic by the way.
If you are interested Log cabins differ significantly in wall thickness (19mm, 28mm, 44mm, 70mm). Structural and insulation considerations change meaningfully between those categories. For a full breakdown: Read Our Independent Tiger Log Cabin Reviews
Across the majority of Tiger’s shed range, the roof is built using 12mm tongue & groove boards, not OSB sheet material.
This matters because tongue & groove boards interlock, distribute weight better, and resist sagging over time.

By contrast, many lower-cost sheds use thin OSB sheets.
OSB can swell at the edges, flex between supports and show visible sagging after seasons of exposure.
It’s not obvious on day one. It becomes obvious later.

We’ve inspected Tiger roofs repeatedly over the last decade at show sites, and structural consistency has remained strong across their shed range.
If you’re choosing a building for regular use, roof construction matters more than decorative features and Tiger have nailed it here.
Wall construction determines how solid a shed feels over time.
Across the majority of Tiger’s shed range, the walls are built using tongue & groove cladding, not basic overlap boarding.

Tongue & groove boards interlock cleanly. That means:
• Greater structural rigidity
• Reduced movement as timber expands and contracts
• Cleaner, tighter joins
• A smoother overall finish
By contrast, many lower-tier sheds use thin overlap cladding.

Overlap boards rely on gravity rather than interlocking joints. Over time, this can lead to:
• Visible warping
• Gaps forming
• Reduced rigidity
It’s a structural difference, not just a cosmetic one.
We’ve inspected Tiger wall construction repeatedly at show sites over the last decade, and consistency in cladding quality has remained one of the stronger aspects of their shed range.
If you want a building that feels stable year after year, wall construction matters.
Windows are often where cost-cutting becomes visible.
Across much of Tiger’s shed range, glazing is fitted using proper safety glass, rather than thin styrene plastic.

Safety glass feels more solid in the frame, offers better clarity, and resists scratching over time.
It also improves the overall structural feel of the building.
By contrast, lower-spec sheds often use thin styrene glazing.

Styrene is lightweight and cheaper to produce, but it can:
• Scratch easily
• Become cloudy
• Feel flexible in the frame
This difference becomes noticeable with use.
When inspecting Tiger models at show sites, glazing consistency has generally remained solid across their core shed range.
If long-term appearance and durability matter to you, glazing choice isn’t a small detail.
It’s a structural one.
Floor strength determines how solid a building feels in daily use.
Across much of Tiger’s shed range, flooring is constructed using solid timber 12mm boards supported by proper framing beneath.

Solid boarding provides:
• Greater rigidity under load
• Less flex when walking inside
• Improved long-term durability
The support framing underneath is equally important, as it distributes weight across the base properly.
By contrast, many lower-cost sheds use thin OSB sheet flooring.

OSB panels can:
• Feel softer underfoot
• Swell if exposed to moisture
• Weaken over time with repeated load
This difference isn’t always obvious when new.
It becomes noticeable with use.
When inspecting Tiger buildings over the years, floor stability has remained consistent across the core shed ranges.
If you plan to store heavier items or use the space regularly, floor construction matters more than most buyers realise.
