Prepare to be amazed by the quality and features of the large 10’x4’ Treetops Traditional Pent Tool Store Shed. It is worth pointing out that there are a significant amount of models available in this range. So you have a wide choice of sizes offered to you. This one is the largest shed in the collection and it is capable of storing a lot of different things.
The first thing we like about this tool shed is the way it looks. This is down to the Redwood Shiplap tongue and groove clad walls. Redwood isn’t frequently used in the design of garden storage sheds so this alone sets it apart from the competition. It benefits from a very smooth, solid look. It doesn’t just look good though. This solid design ensures the shed will withstand practically anything. Its durability really is impeccable.
The windowless design gives you complete peace of mind that your expensive machinery, tools and equipment will be safely stored out of view. There’s also a fantastic security measure included in the form of a built in key operated lock.
Don’t like where the door is located? Change it! You can move it to the opposite gable or a more preferred option might be to upgrade to the double door which will offer a wider entry, enabling you to get awkward machinery and equipment easily into the shed.

What we slate
The only thing letting the quality of this shed down is the roofing felt. It is recommended you buy a better quality fibreglass felt which won’t perish over time.

Let's Take a Closer Look...
Building Type and Measurements
External ridge height – 5’7”
Eaves height – 5’3”
Door height – 4’9”
Door width – 2’6”
External depth – 10’0”
External width – 4’0”
This isn’t your average garden storage shed, it has been built to mainly store tools. What does this mean? Well if you take a look at the measurements you’ll discover they are slightly on the shorter side compared to standard sheds. This means you will not easily be able to walk around inside the shed. Being the largest model in the Treetops Traditional Pent Tool Store Shed range, this is ideal for those with a lot of equipment, tools and even machinery to store.
Roof and Floor
In the construction of this solid building, it has been designed with space saving in mind. For that reason the pent roof has a shorter height than many other similar size buildings. Pent roofs are used for gardens with height restrictions and they do offer a good level of protection against the elements. However, what it means is that you won’t easily be able to walk around inside the shed. With the smaller models this isn’t really an issue as most of your storage is accessible via the doorway. With this larger model however, you won’t be able to get to things at the rear of the building so easily.
One of the best things about the tongue and groove interior is that the floor is strong enough to hold any weight. So there are no limits to what you can keep in this tool shed; especially thanks to its spacious design.
Cladding, Frame and Treatment Requirements
Exceptional Redwood timber is used for the tongue and groove Shiplap construction. This gives the walls an impeccable, solid design. Not only does this style of cladding make the shed look good, but it also protects it against all elements that are thrown at it. The walls have an interlocking fit ensuring the shed is both water and wind resistant. It is a lot stronger than overlap and therefore a lot more durable. This is why it comes at a higher cost than a similar size overlap shed. You really are paying for quality with this model. The interior is also held up by a thick 44mm x 27mm frame.
With dip treated sheds you can sometimes get away with skipping the first years treatment. However, the manufacturer does recommend you use a high quality treatment within 6 weeks and then annually afterwards.
Doors and Windows
There are a number of options open to you when it comes to the doors of this building. Not many tool sheds give you the option to customise the door so this is a unique feature of the Treetops Traditional range. Firstly you need to decide between a single or double doors. The single door is included in the cost and you can add it to either where it is shown in the picture, or onto the opposite gable. Or, for more access space you can upgrade to double doors. These will come at a slightly higher cost and will be placed onto the low side of the shed.
You’ll notice there aren’t any windows included and this is so that all of the tools, bicycles, equipment and machinery you store will be kept securely out of view.
Security and Privacy
There is a lot of security added to this tool shed, including a fantastic integrated lock. This is operated via a key and will be extremely difficult for somebody to get through. A lot of similar sheds tend to come with a mere pad bolt and you even have to buy your own padlock to keep the building secure. So the fact this one comes with a built in lock is a massive benefit. It’s also incredibly private thanks to the lack of windows.
Customisation Options and Extras
All of the models in the Treetops Traditional Pent Tool Store Shed range come with pretty much the same customisation options and extras. We’ve already covered the door customisation options above. The only thing we will add here is that if you want to upgrade to the double doors, you will need to pay more. However, if you’re simply switching the position of the single door then this is done free of charge.
So onto the extras. The first is the garden building installation service. Now as this is a larger model in the collection, it may be tempting to opt for this. After all, it can save a lot of time and potential stress. We will say that the installation seems to be pretty easy however so if you’re looking to save as much money as possible, it would be better to build it yourself.
The floor bearers on the other hand are definitely worth buying. They are pretty simple and look just like wooden sticks. However, don’t let their simplistic appearance fool you. They lift the sheds floor off the ground, preventing it from getting damaged during wet weather. This in turn boosts its longevity. So for the low price you pay, you are getting substantial benefits.
