This good sized tool shed is one of many in the Treetops Traditional range. It is built with extreme quality and security in mind. Even the type of timber used is different to its competitors. This shed is built from exceptional quality DEAL Redwood. You are left with a very strong, secure and long lasting building.
Another unique feature of this range is the fact you can totally customise the doors. There are three options open to you, with both single and double doors available. The windowless design also makes it great for storing valuable equipment.
You’ll often find most sheds, particularly of this size, come with a hasp and staple or pad bolt. However, this one has the additional benefit of being secured with a lock and key. So you don’t need to spend anything extra upgrading the security.
A pent roof gives you more choices in terms of where you build the shed. It is particularly well suited for being built next to another building. This model comes with a generous depth, allowing you to store more than you can in the smaller models. Dip treated walls give it a good level of weather resistance, though you will need to maintain annual treatments to ensure it stays completely waterproof.

Let's Take a Closer Look...
Building Type and Measurements
External ridge height – 5’7”
Eaves height – 5’3”
Door height – 4’9”
Door width – 2’6”
External depth – 7’0”
External width – 3’0”
This is a very strong, secure tool shed offered as part of the Treetops Traditional collection. It is one of the medium size sheds on offer and can therefore store slightly bigger tools or equipment. Like all of the buildings in this range, it isn’t designed as a walk-in shed. You can see this from the height of both the door and the ridge height. However, the door’s width is wider than the ones you will find on many competitor sheds, making it incredibly easy to retrieve your tools no matter how bulky they are.
Roof and Floor
The shed’s pent roof is one of its most significant features. It is designed so that you can assemble it close to another building or underneath low hanging bushes, trees and in front of garden fences. The difference between this and many other pent sheds is that you have the ability to choose a reverse pent design as shown in the picture. Or you can stick to a more traditional design if you move the door to the opposite gable.
One of the best features of these tool sheds is that they benefit from a tongue and groove roof and floor. In terms of the roof, this gives it a much stronger, solid design. However, it is the floor that benefits the most as it is ideal for heavy tools, unlike the solid sheet floors you often find in sheds.
Cladding, Frame and Treatment Requirements
A lot of sheds these days are constructed from tongue and groove Shiplap cladding. However, the manufacturer has ensured that this one stands out by using DEAL Redwood PAR finished cladding. At 12mm thick, this little shed is exceptionally rigid and it offers an outstanding level of weather resistance. It also uses 44mm x 27mm framing to give it more internal support. In comparison to overlap, Shiplap is less likely to distort and warp over time. The walls of this shed have a very tight interlocking design which even protects it against strong winds.
Shed Store dip treat all of the models in the Treetops Traditional range. This is a much stronger level of protection than a base coat treatment and it means you don’t have to treat the shed immediately after installation. It is recommended you apply a treatment within 6 weeks however and then continue the treatments annually to ensure it stays adequately protected.
Doors and Windows
The signature feature of this tool shed is its customisable doors. If you look at the picture, you’ll notice the door has a unique position which gives the shed a reverse pent style. The single door is surprisingly wide and comes fully braced for ultimate stability. It can also be moved to the opposite gable. This helps you to choose the best position based upon the design of your garden. Alternatively you can get rid of the single door and opt for slightly larger double doors instead. However, unlike some of the other models in this range, you aren’t actually given the option to upgrade to double doors before you check out so you will need to contact the manufacturer to discuss this if you do want to make a change.
One of the main factors that has been focused on with the design of this tool shed is privacy. In order to ensure the building is suitable for more valuable storage, it is constructed with a windowless design. So whatever you store, it will be completely hidden from view.
Security and Privacy
This is by far one of the most secure little sheds available. You won’t need to worry about storing expensive tools in here as thanks to the key operated lock and windowless construction, you can rest in the knowledge they will be fully protected. The thick cladding also acts as a secure barrier against thieves. All in all we’re impressed that unlike a lot of competitor sheds, no additional funds need to be spent on upgrading the security or privacy.
Customisation Options and Extras
Being able to customise the doors gives this tool shed a unique edge over its competition. With both single and double doors available, you can choose whichever best suits your preference. The double doors don’t really give you much additional access compared to the single door so it is largely an aesthetic difference. Remember that you will need to contact the manufacturer if you want to upgrade to double doors.
As for extras, you can choose to add an erection service and floor bearers. The Garden Building Installation Service would be useful with a different sized, more complex building but here it isn’t really essential. You should find it pretty simple to install by yourself so it’s worth saving the money to spend on other things such as upgrading the roofing felt. The floor bearers on the other hand are definitely worth investing in. They boost the sheds floor off the ground, protecting it from damp. They are shown included on the shed in the picture, but they don’t actually come included in the initial cost of the building.
So, How Does It All Stack Up?
This hardy and secure little tool shed is constructed to the highest of standards. There is very little you can fault with it and we’re sure you’ll be extremely pleased with the quality provided.
Longevity Of materials9/10
As the entire build features tongue and groove construction, it does have a much longer longevity than overlap and solid sheet material sheds. However, you can’t get away from annual treatments and poor quality roofing felt so these are the only things that have lowered the rating.
As this is one of the more medium sized tool sheds in the collection, it does provide you with a little more depth than some of the others. It’s big enough to store your essential outdoor tools and equipment, though you need to keep in mind that it isn’t designed with large equipment or machinery in mind.
Ease of installation8/10
Due to how simple this is to put together, we’re surprised Shed Store offer an installation service. It should only take 2-4 hours to assemble and thanks to its small size and windowless construction, it isn’t hard to put together.
Value for money9/10
If all you need is a little extra space to store your gardening essentials, this is a fantastic little shed to invest in. It offers brilliant value for money and requires very few upgrades. The fact it is so secure and comes with customisable options also adds to its value.
Final Thoughts: There are so many things to love about the Treetops Traditional Pent Tool Store Shed collection. The fact you are able to customise the doors is an incredible benefit not found on most other tool sheds. We absolutely love the security included with this building and the high quality tongue and groove cladding is followed through to the interior as well as the exterior. It doesn’t come with windows so you can rest assured that anything valuable will be kept away from prying eyes. It offers superb value for money and we really can’t recommend it highly enough. Don’t forget there are different sizes available so you might want to compare them before choosing this one.
