Superior quality is what the manufacturer has focused on with this Treetops Traditional Pent Tool Store Shed. Even the smallest of details have been developed with exceptional quality in mind.
Firstly there’s the incredible Deal Redwood exterior cladding. Shiplap tongue and groove PAR finished cladding gives this shed a unique look compared to its competitors. However, what we really like is that this quality is carried through to the sheds interior. Tongue and groove has been used on the roof as well as the floor to ensure it offers a superb quality design inside and out.
Another feature worth mentioning is the door. You are given three different options here. Being able to customise the size of the door (single or double) and its position is incredibly unique. The shed also comes without windows so you are guaranteed maximum privacy. This makes it an excellent choice for storing anything valuable such as power tools and expensive equipment.
Another unique feature of the door is the built in key operated lock. This once again adds to its security and gives the shed a very robust, thief proof design.
The walls are dip treated prior to delivery, though an additional treatment will be required within 6 weeks of assembly.

Here you are getting a specially designed tool shed. The Treetops Traditional Pent Tool Store Shed range is actually pretty extensive. There are so many different sizes to choose from and this is one of the more typical, medium size models available in the range. A lot of the sheds in the collection have an unusual size so if you’re looking for something a little more traditional then this is a good choice.
One thing that you might find problematic is the height of the door. At 4’9”, most people aren’t going to be able to just walk right on in. The height inside the building also isn’t fantastic. So if you’re looking for a shed you can actually get into and walk comfortably around in, this isn’t the right model for you.
Shed Type and Roof Size
A pent roof is the focal design element of this range and it is there to ensure the building can be assembled right next to, or in front of, another building such as your home. It also makes it ideal for gardens which feature low hanging trees. Basically if your garden has any height restrictions, a pent roof shed is what you need. It slopes downwards at one end in order to sufficiently drain rainwater off the roof.
Tongue and groove is used on the floor and roof which makes it a lot more rigid and durable than sheds which feature a solid sheet interior. It means you can store heavier tools and DIY equipment such as heavy boxes, large power tools and tins of paint.
Cladding, Frame and Floor
This tool shed doesn’t just use the highest quality Shiplap tongue and groove cladding, it also uses a unique type of timber. Redwood isn’t commonly used in garden storage buildings so essentially you are getting a shed that is totally different from the competition. It also supplies all of the great benefits of Shiplap tongue and groove such as a smooth, tightly fitted design that is both protected from the rain and strong winds. An expansion gap also features in the cladding’s design which means if the wood does alter for any reason during the course of the year, it will never affect the structural stability of the shed. To complete the high quality design, a very strong 44mm x 27mm frame supports the structure.
Annual treatments are necessary despite the shed being dip treated at the factory. This treatment does mean you do not have to treat the building right after assembly. You can treat it within 6 weeks of putting the shed together. However, once initially treated it does require annual treatments.
Doors and Windows
The shed comes with a very unusual door placement. As you’ll see from the picture, the single door is located on what would typically be the side of the building. This provides a reverse pent design. However, it can be moved to the opposite gable and you can even opt for double doors. More about this can be found under the customisation options section, but the fact you do have three choices with the door’s design is very unusual and beneficial. The design of the door is also noteworthy. It has a particularly thick style with very supportive bracing added to its interior. You won’t have to worry about the door blowing open either as it is equipped with a key operated lock.
Like all of the Pent Tool Store Sheds in this collection, this one is windowless. The reason behind this is the shed is built to store valuable tools. So the last thing you need is a potential thief being able to just peer in and see what is there for the taking.
Security and Privacy
It’s rare that we come across a building, especially of this size, that doesn’t require any improvements in terms of security and privacy. The key operated lock is fantastic and ensures the shed is very difficult to break into. Then there’s the windowless design which reduces temptation for anybody to break in. It is by far one of the most private and secure sheds on the market which makes it perfect for storing valuable items.
Customisation Options and Extras
Where this shed really excels is its customisation options. The fact you can customise the door is a unique advantage. Whether you opt for the single or double door option, both come fully braced and have a very thick design. It will only cost you extra if you plan on upgrading to the double doors. If you simply want to alter the position of the single door then that is available free of charge.
Floor bearers are another extra presented to you. They can be seen on the picture, though they are an extra and are not included in the initial cost of the shed. These bearers may look simple and come at an affordable cost, but they have a very important job and that is to raise the shed off the ground, helping to prevent rot and other problems that could occur through exposure to damp.
All of the Treetops Traditional pent tool store sheds are offered with a garden building installation service. Now typically we recommend this if the shed you are buying is fairly difficult to assemble. This one however is pretty straightforward to put together. So really you don’t need this service unless you really don’t want to spend any time putting assembling the shed.
So, How Does It All Stack Up?
This tool shed is truly exceptional and every single part of it oozes quality. We challenge you to find a better quality tool shed anywhere else.
Longevity Of materials9/10
Annual treatment are the only thing stopping us providing a 10/10 rating for longevity. Compared to competitor sheds, this is going to last a lot longer due to its exceptional quality design. However, you can’t discard the annual treatments needed to maintain its rot resistant design.
There are a lot of different sizes to choose from with this shed, but this one does offer a generous amount of space compared to most of the others. It is wider and deeper than the majority in the collection and is therefore capable of storing a wide range of things.
Ease of installation9/10
The way that this shed is designed means it is very easy to self-assemble. Shed Store claim it will take 2-4 hours to put together and detailed instructions are supplied.
Value for money10/10
We genuinely can’t recommend this shed highly enough. The value for money provided is sensational and well worth the additional cost compared to lower quality competitors.
Final Thoughts: If security, privacy and quality are your main priorities when choosing a tool shed, this model from Treetops Traditional is an exceptional choice. Built with no windows for maximum privacy and comprising a full tongue and groove construction, this hardy building is ideal for storing heavy, expensive items. Compared to the other sizes available in the range, this one has a more traditional design and offers a great level of storage space. There are a lot of things to like about this shed including the key operated lock, pent roof, sturdy Shiplap tongue and groove construction and dip treated walls.
