Don’t let the size of this shed fool you, there are some great aspects to it that make it a real winner in the garden building stakes. There’s kind of something unconventional about the building too, since it has four opening windows running alongside it. This isn’t the norm among sheds of this size, but it does wonders for the amount of light you will experience when you step inside the building. The windows are a key feature, and while there is a lot more going on underneath the surface of this shed, it’s those windows that jump out and grab you.

Let's Take a Closer Look...
Double Door overlap wooden shed with four windows – Our first thoughts
Let’s just keep on about those windows for a little while. They are not only opening windows (which does absolute wonders for the ventilation in the building), they are also a good size, so you get plenty of light. And when you have a compact building, this really adds massively to the value.
And then there’s the glazing itself. The glazing has been created using styrene. This material is safer than glass, it doesn’t shatter basically. In a garden where children are present, this makes complete sense, and again adds to the value of the purchase. It even offers that little bit extra protection in cold weather.
But the styrene also looks great too. It almost seems clearer than glass, and this really helps you enjoy the building from the inside or the outside. We can’t really explain this any more than to say that you get a real feeling of clarity when you look through it. And when the sun is shining, styrene really comes into it’s own. The material is 2 mm thick, which adds to the durability considerably.
So that’s four great opening windows, of a good size, with styrene glazing. It’s a good feature, and the positioning of the windows alone makes them a stand-out.
The building makes for a great storage shed or potting shed, and the large double doors really add to the experience tremendously, by giving you full and immediate access to the inside of the building. They are reassuringly strong, and they do open as wide as you would need them to.
Double door overlap wooden shed with four windows: Some questions you may have
Is it safe from rot and decay? It has been dip treated, so you get an immediate level of protection against rot and decay. However, what you need to bear in mind is the annual work you will have to do around this treatment. You will need to treat it annually to help it keep its looks and to maintain the defences against rot and decay. Some people don’t mind this, others prefer pressure treatment. But the dip treatment has a direct impact on one aspect of the shed: the cost.
Add to this the fact that the manufacturer has given you a 10 year guarantee against rot and damp, and you have a building that is literally built to last. Its reassuring to have the guarantee, and it makes for a much more comfortable environment.
What about security? This is taken care of by the manufacturer. It has supplied you with a padbolt that can be used with the shed. A metal sliding lock that is tough and durable, it brings you extra security and peace of mind around your shed. The lockable aspect of the bolt means that you can ensure the shed is untouchable. And don’t forget that styrene glass. It’s shatterproof.
And putting it together? You can certainly put it together yourself, with the help of another person. The shed comes flatpacked so it is easy to get into position. You must ensure that you have a sufficient base before you put it together though. If you don’t you are basically sabotaging the project.
You’re going to need either a wooden shed base or a flat concrete surface to ensure that its foundations are there for the building. This is essential. If in doubt, get a professional in for installation.
Is the roof sturdy? You have an apex roof, and this is one of those additions that has two functions. It gives you a lot more headroom inside the building for starters. And it also ensures that rainwater simply runs off quickly than it would on other roofs. The roof has felt on it that adds even more protection so it is a very sturdy and watertight part of the building. And apex roofs (many people feel) simply look better than other roofs do anyway.
What’s the cladding like? It’s shiplap, which means you have little lips throughout the cladding that give you a massive amount of protection against rainwater. This means you have even more durability built in as it protects the building for years to come. There’s a 10 year guarantee against rot and damp too, so you’re fully covered.

Double door overlap wooden shed with four windows: Our final thoughts
We like this building. It’s functional, but there’s something else about it as well. It has a good look in a traditional sense, and we appreciate that the manufacturers have pulled out all the stops to ensure it is watertight. A good and useful traditional shed.
