We were very impressed by the quality of this shed, both in terms of the materials used and the features it offers. Space is often at a premium in modern gardens, and so this shed plus canopy could be a perfect solution. The shed itself is spacious, thanks to its apex roof, and the extra two feet of protected cover offered by the attractive looking wooden canopy can come in very useful. Whether you use it to store wood, or to keep your tools handy when working in the garden, it’s sure to come in useful.
Shed-Plus have manufactured this to last, as shown by the very generous anti-rot guarantee provided. As yearly re-treatment isn’t required for this shed, owners can save both time and money over this 15 year period. Painting the shed, adding a base kit for extra protection from rising moisture, and adding a padlock or security kit will all add a little to the overall cost, but this still represents good value for money.
Surprisingly easy to install, thanks to the straight forward instructions included along with the fixtures and fittings, once we had it in place, we could tell that it was strong and secure. With thick and weather resistant cladding around the exterior, it felt anything but flimsy.

Let's Take a Closer Look...
Shed Type, Roof Size
When we review sheds we like features that provide real benefits to the consumer, and make them stand out from the crowd for all the right reasons. That’s just what this pressure treated shed does thanks to the external canopy. It looks great, and is very practical. It can be fitted on either the right or left side of the shed, which means that it can fit in with gardens of almost any size or shape.
The roof of this shed is in an apex style, which not only gives a little more headroom when standing in the shed, it also helps rain bounce off the surface and away from the shed itself. The roof is 2.01m at its highest point, with an eaves height of 1.65m. The shed has a width of 1.83m, but bear in mind that this includes the canopy width of 0.59m, and the depth of the shed is 1.84m including the overhang. The door height of 1.67m may mean that taller shed owners have to duck a little, but the door width of 0.66m is more than enough to take lawn mowers in and out.
Cladding, Frame and Floor
We were impressed by the overlap cladding on this shed, as great value sheds such as this can sometimes have thinner cladding that give it a less than solid feel. The 8mm thick cladding used by Shed-Plus here allays such fears. The overlap design itself gives a very traditional appearance, especially when complemented by the log store. If painted or stained by the owner, which we recommend to keep the wood fading effect of UV rays at bay, it will look very stylish and attractive.
A standard frame of 28mm x 28mm is used in this shed, but both the floor and the roof are made of solid sheet OSB. This is both tough and durable, so helps to ensure that the shed keeps in good condition for years to come. Whilst the floor joists themselves are pressure treated, a welcome touch in this price band, extra protection against rising moisture can be added by a base kit.
Treatment Requirements And Warranty
The timber cladding of this shed has been pressure treated by the manufacturers. This is an intensive treatment which effectively forces preservative deep into the fibres of the wood. It’s a longer lasting treatment than dipping, and for this reason Shed-Plus are confident enough to provide a 15 year anti-rot guarantee with this shed and canopy. The manufacturer states that no re-treatment is required by the end user, but we would still recommend inspecting the shed on an annual basis and adding further coatings of preservative if necessary.
Doors And Windows
When opening and closing this door it felt solid and smooth, which is always a good sign. It features a hasp and staple locking system, but be aware that a padlock is not included. Shed security systems are, however, available as low cost optional extras, and we highly recommend that one is purchased.
One of the stand out features, besides the canopy itself, is the fixed position side window. Generously sized at 0.59 X 0.62m, it allows natural light to flood into the interior, making this shed a pleasant place to spend time. We were pleased to see that the glazing itself was styrene rather than glass, as this is a tougher material and much less likely to shatter. It’s an important consideration, especially if you’ll have small children in and around the shed.
Security And Privacy
Shed security is always a concern, which is why a padlock and alarm should be used with the door. The toughness of the styrene window is in itself a useful anti-intruder measure, as it would take a concerted effort to break through the glazing. Most shed break ins are carried out on an opportune basis, so simple measures such as this toughened glazing can make a big difference.
Customisation Options and Extras
We often recommend purchasing a base kit where available, and there is a 6’ X 4’ base kit available for this shed which will prevent it coming into too much contact with the ground. It’s important to note, however, that extra support would need to be added to the struts of the log store canopy if the base kit was used.
We’ve already talked about the importance of adding a padlock, and the Yale shed security system is a great option. Not only does it include a sturdy padlock itself, it also has an alarm system. Solar lighting is also available, and can improve the overall security of the shed by illuminating its vicinity.
One other extra available is a shed guttering kit. This simply fixes onto the overhang of the shed and ensures that any rainwater is collected in the gutter and carried harmlessly away. The use of guttering also allows this water to be collected in a tank or butt, from where it can be used to water the garden itself. It’s a perfect idea for a green thinking gardener.
So, How Does It All Stack Up?
The materials supplied were of the highest quality for a shed of this price, from the roofing felt to the solid OSM flooring.
Longevity Of Materials9.5/10
This shed is built to last, as emphasised by the 15 year guarantee supplied by Shed-Plus. Whilst this guarantee is not dependent upon annual re-treatment, it’s still worth inspecting the shed regularly and adding a spirit or water based preservative if required.
When inside the main body of the shed we found it spacious and comfortable, helped no doubt by the natural lighting. The additional storage space offered by the log store canopy makes it even more flexible.
Ease Of Installation9/10
We were concerned that the canopy may make it difficult or unwieldy to construct, but in fact the simple instructions made it surprisingly easy. Two people should be able to install this shed without any difficulty within two or three hours.
Value For Money9/10
You get a lot of shed for a little money, and the canopy means that it can be used for so much, from a storage space for logs to a children’s play house. Adding a padlock would also allow it to be used as a secure storage area, thanks to the styrene window.
Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a good looking shed with a little extra storage space, then Shed-Plus have the answer. The canopy not only makes this shed look prettily rustic, it adds extra functionality as well. With fifteen years of rot-free life, as guaranteed by the manufacturer, you can install the shed and then sit back and relax as you enjoy your garden. The apex roof, lined with thick and durable green mineral felt, and the overlap cladding both help to give excellent weather protection to this garden building, forcing water away from the interior of the shed itself.
